Gorgeous late 40s, early 50s full length evening dress. The maker is unknown, but it is very well made. The bodice is a chantilly-type lace, fitted and boned and it has a fine black mesh overlay. The mesh is full at the back then gathered at the shoulders and forms a V at the front revealing the beautiful lace center front. There is no gathering nearing the end of the shoulders and the mesh falls gently over giving the impression of a short sleeve. The drop waist and generous sweeping skirt that makes that wonderful sound when you move is done in a synthetic taffeta. It has a long metal zipper running up the side along the taffeta and up to the end of the lace where there is a hook and eye. The mesh overlay does up with four snaps covering the upper part of the zipper (see second to last photo). There is a minor issue; so please read the condition chart and please click on the pictures to get the full view of this very elegant dress. Otherwise, very gently used and in excellent condition.
