Fakes - TG Green:

Please be aware that there are a number of faked pieces in circulation mainly being sourced from auction houses in the Midlands, UK area.

These include butter dishes with unusual names - e.g. Cherries, Arrowroot. Also faked Jugs with Marvel etc in black (the real ones have Marvel in blue).  Also many items of Homepride / Bisto etc allegedly manufactured by TG Green e.g. toastracks.

These are modern pieces that have been faked with ‘real looking’ black shield backstamps or a triangular Gresley Potteries backstamp, and generally have a different ‘more modern looking’ typeface or transfer.

They have been turning up at auction houses and on eBay. BE AWARE!!! If in doubt - dont buy them. Contact the moderator if you need advice.
